Somewhere in a hidden layer in an undisclosed location in Oak Park, Il., Charles D. Moisant is planning, plotting, scheming, if you will, his next creation. Whatever Moisant has in store for his legions of readers, you can be sure it will involve zombies, haunted houses, unicorns or roller derby girls with super powers. For the last eight years, Moisant and company have run Silver Phoenix comics, an independent comic book company that primarily produces standalone, or one-shot, books that tell the entire story in a single issue. Moisant is an artist, writer and publisher, but has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including creators from Marvel.
Sporting a long mutton chop-style mustache and wild hair of a mad genius, Moisant fits the profile of a gifted visionary. While his focus is primarily on horror and fantasy, Moisant also has done educational comics about the history of Oak Park and is currently working on a series that promotes healthy life choices. Charles' Latest works "IT LIES!" a board game and web series under development with Michael Giba and Haunting Tales of Bachelor's Grove with Brian K Morris a kickstarter success. Charles also has been developing free Educational comic books for the masses.
Lynette Eklund has been in the special effect industry since she was 20. Her work comes in all sizes, from stop-motion miniatures to full-size dinosaurs. With over 50 IMDb television and film credits to her name, she has contributed to Beetlejuice, Species I & II, the Emmy Award winning miniseries The Stand, Oscar-nominated The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the Puppet Master series, Demonic Toys, Ghoulies II, Sandlot I & II, Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, among others, while working with the likes of Ben Kingsley, Jeff Goldblum, Gore Verbinski and Stephen Spielberg. Lynette's skills can also be seen in the prototyping of the first animatronic toy, Teddy Ruxpin; in the stage shows of Terry Fader, Christopher Hart, Jeff Dunham and Gallagher; on limited-edition collectables for Disney sculptor Terri Hardin; at Tokyo Disneyland, Epcot, Universal Studios and several other amusement parks around the world; in commercials for McDonalds, Duracell, and Budweiser, and many others; in the Warner Bros Museum and Guillermo Del Toro's private art collection, and as a screenplay writer and producer on Three Bears Christmas (2019) and The Hunted now in post-production. Currently, she is promoting her first picture book, titled Giggling Pumpkins, while building characters for a project in pre-production, and awaiting the release of her first horror comic story.
Philo Barnhart is a Second Generation Disney legend. His Mother and Father worked for Disney on many animated cartoons during their golden age. He is a professional film animator from Oak Park, IL, who holds a very impressive resume. Over the course of his long career Philo has worn a number of hats in the film industry including key character design and assistant animation positions with Disney. Some of Philo's work can be seen in films like The Little Mermaid (he's the character designer for Ariel), Beauty and the Beast, The Black Cauldron, and The Secret of Nimh. If you have ever wanted to talk with someone involved in the creation of some of the most timeless classics of your childhood Philo is the guy.
